Study Hall At-A- Glance
Study Hall is a Family Program for Friends and Members of UU Santa Fe. Our program provides a sheltered learning environment for children while Santa Fe Public Schools are opting for online classes. We provide work and play space and Internet access for 13 children, masked and socially distanced under adult supervision on school days when parents must go to work. You do not need to become a member of UU Santa Fe to enroll your child(ren) in Study Hall.
The Study Hall Program is managed by Alissa Leon, Montessori Teacher. We are hiring four Study Hall Monitors, all of whom have direct experience working with children. All volunteers and staff are background checked. This Program is overseen by Steven Mead, UU Santa Fe Program Ministry staff and Rev. Gail Marriner.
UU Santa Fe | 107 West Barcelona Road. Centrally located with ample parking. Children are dropped off and picked up at our rear playground entrance accessible from our lower parking lot.
We will be outside on our portal, courtyard and playground and inside in Fellowship Hall only when the weather is inclement. When doing online school work, children will be separated by 6 feet. When Study Hall is in session, our campus is closed to all other groups.
Cost & Registration
Good communication is important, especially so in this dynamic situation. Email, text, our eNewsletter, this website and other social media platforms are our primary methods of communicating with parents so we need parents to regularly check phone, email and relevant social media platforms and make sure you can receive emails originating from UU Santa Fe (so they don't go into your Spam folder). For now, we have a scheduled parent/staff Zoom phone call every Sunday at 5 pm; write Steven Mead to obtain the Zoom meeting ID link. All communication regarding your child's learning style should be directed to Alissa Leon, Study Hall Manager, not individual Study Hall Monitors.
Students must use their school-provided laptop. Make sure your child's computer is fully charged to begin the day. We have two charging stations that may be used when needed whenever your child is not online. We have extension cords for eight spaces for those with finicky or unreliable battery power for their laptop. Cell phone type headphones are strongly recommended.
